The New Cync App Powered By Savant
The Cync app will be available in the Apple App Store and Google Play Store. Coming soon in 2021.
The Cync app requires that your phone is using iOS 14+ or Android 8.0+. Update your C by GE app to the newest version, from the App Store or Google Play Store. If you have auto updates enabled, this will happen automatically once the new versions is released.

Yes, all C by GE products linked with Alexa and Google for voice control will continue to work just as they do today, with no need to take action. You will not need to re-link or add a new skill for Cync products either – they’ll use the same connection you already have with C by GE for voice control. The only thing that will change over time is the branding of the skill or linked accounts inside the Alexa and Google Home apps.
Yes, we will support the C by GE app for a period of time after the release of the Cync app. For the best experience, we encourage you to update your phone's operating system to the latest compatible version and download Cync.
Yes! The Cync app offers Grouping of devices inside your Rooms for even more control of your smart home. Cync is also all about personalization. Upload a photo of your home to use as the app background for a one-of-a-kind experience. To top it off, the new app includes Savant’s patented TrueImage feature which allows you to take a photo of your smart devices and preview lighting changes in real-time no matter where you are.
All current HomeKit integrations via the C-Reach hub will continue to be supported in the Cync app. We are evaluating the potential expansion of HomeKit compatibility for other products and will make an announcement on future plans when appropriate.
New Product Launches
We’re expanding beyond lighting and going outdoors! Outdoor Smart Plug, Indoor Smart Camera and Fan Speed Smart Switch are a few of the new Cync smart devices launching in 2021.
Our new products in 2021 will only work with the new Cync app. In order to use these new products, you will need to update your C by GE app to the new Cync app in the App Store or Google Play Store.
Announced last year as the Works with C by GE program, Links with Cync gives consumers the ability to easily control smart home devices from partner companies through the Cync app. Be on the lookout for news on partner devices later this year.
No, our Outdoor Smart Plug, Indoor Camera and Fan Speed Smart Switch are Wi-Fi + Bluetooth devices. They will not require a hub to control your devices out-of-home or to enable Google or Alexa control.
All new Cync products will work with both Alexa and Google through linking the new Cync app and either the Alexa or Google Home app – no hub required!
Coming in 2021 - Indoor Camera
The indoor camera uses a USB power adapter that must be plugged into an outlet, so it’s always on and ready to detect what’s happening.
Data privacy is extremely important to us. We are giving our users two options based on their needs. You can use a Micro SD card (sold separately) which allows you to store video locally on the camera and nowhere else. Alternatively, a subscription service will be available for purchase that allows video to be stored, accessed and retrieved from anywhere via secure cloud storage. For an extra layer of security, two-factor authentication is always required when using the Cync app to view live streams or stored clips.
The Cync Indoor Smart Camera takes privacy seriously and offers a unique physical shutter that can be manually engaged and blocks the camera lens. When the shutter is up, live streaming and audio detection is disabled. Users can also enable privacy mode remotely via the app. Other key features include 1080p high-resolution video, automatic night vision, two-way audio, and intelligent motion and sound alerts. Users can draw a motion zone to monitor only a specific part of the camera view and can filter out false alarms by turning on Person Detection.
The camera is slated for launch in June. Check back for updates on retailer availability timing.
Coming in 2021 - Outdoor Plug
The outdoor plug will have two outlets. They can be independently controlled from the on/off switches on the plug, or inside the Cync app.
Control your outdoor devices via scheduling, the Cync app, or your voice assistant. The weather-resistant smart plug features two outlets that can be controlled together or individually to provide more control. No hub required. Pairs with C by GE and Cync smart switches and wire-free remotes so you can control your outside lights without needing to step outside.
The outdoor plug is slated for launch in May. Check back for updates on retailer availability timing.
Coming in 2021 - Fan Speed Smart Switch
The fan speed switch supports four different fan speeds, and can be controlled at the switch, inside the Cync app, or via Alexa and Google voice commands. Wi-Fi capability allows you to control your fan from anywhere, without the need for a hub. Use Amazon Alexa or Google Assistant to control the fan speed switch by voice.
The Fan Speed Smart Switch is compatible with Single Ceiling Fans with a permanent split-capacitor motor (120V AC, Max 1.5A). It is not compatible with fans that have integrated fan speed and/or light control modules, DC motor fans, fans with remote controls, bathroom or kitchen exhaust type fans.
The fan switch is slated for launch in July. Check back for updates on retailer availability timing.
