If you are unable to update the firmware on your C by GE Wired Switches and Dimmers, here are some common solutions:
- Confirm your Wi-Fi Router is powered on and connected to the internet. You can check this by going to Settings on your mobile phone and looking for your Wi-Fi network.
- Connect to your Wi-Fi network and perform a test search on the internet to confirm it works.
- If your router is powered on, but not connected to the internet, contact your Internet Service Provider.
- Make sure Bluetooth on your mobile phone is turned on
- Stand as close as you can to your switch during the update process
- Power cycle the switch
- Force close the C by GE app, then reopen the app
- Logout of the C by GE app, then log back in
- If you installed our 3-Wire switch, you may need to install the Bulb Adapter that came in the box. Click here for more information.
- If the bulb adapter does not fit the light bulbs on the circuit, call C by GE Customer Support to request a C by GE Fixture Adapter: 1-844-30C-BYGE (1-844-302-2943)
