If you are setting up your C by GE lights in the Google Home app only (not using the C by GE app), follow these Google Seamless Set Up troubleshooting tips.
If your C by GE Bluetooth or Direct Connect light bulbs or strip are setup in the C by GE app and you’re linking to the Google Home app, here are some common solutions:
If this is your first time setting up C by GE with Google Home:
- Confirm your C by GE devices are set up in the C by GE app.
- IMPORTANT If you are using Bluetooth Lights, one of your other connected C by GE devices must be a C by GE Wi-Fi device in order to enable Google control. Our Wi-Fi devices include the Smart Plug, Direct Connect Lights, Smart Switch or C-Reach.
- Confirm you are using the correct C by GE login credentials by logging out of the C by GE app, then log back in. Go back to the Google Home app and try setting up your devices again.
If you have previously set up C by GE devices with Google and are adding more:
- Confirm your C by GE devices are set up in the C by GE app.
- Give a voice prompt to your Google Voice Assistant by saying, “Hey Google, sync my devices.” Now check the Google Home app and see if your new C by GE devices are listed at the bottom of the Google Home app home screen.
